Job Description


What will you be doing in this role?

  • Assist in developing and sustaining programs that builds a safety culture that will result in the reduction of work-related injuries and the potential for incident.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with governmental regulatory agencies, such as OSHA, Labor and Industries, and Washington Department of Ecology.
  • Partner with key department leaders to assists in coordinating a program to reduce injuries through hazard identification, planned inspections, first-aid care, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, new employee indoctrination, physical protection, planned job observation, rules and practices, job safety analysis/standard work procedures, ergonomic design, and protective equipment.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:

  • Update / maintain recordkeeping and training documentation related to safety including, but not limited to:
    • EHS database support – data entry
    • Safety Scorecard- coordinate activities that promote safety awareness and accident prevention.
    • Audit Tracking – Partner and coordinate with safety auditors.
    • First Aid / Near Miss and Recordable Incident log documentation thru Velocity EHS
    • Updating the Training Matrix and training compliance documentation
    • Safety Metrics Postings / Tracking
    • Post incident management
    • Align and guide safety champions to deliver safety support on the line.
  • Assist in conducting incident investigations identifying the root cause of injuries, first aid / significant near miss incidents and executing sustainable corrective actions.
  • Must be comfortable assisting injured workers.
  • Conduct employee safety training and new hire orientation.
  • Participate in monthly Environmental inspections and corrections.
  • Other Duties as assigned by EHS Management.


Qualifications


  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated computer skills and proficiency in MS Office and the ability to learn web/cloud based EHS software.
  • Strong, engaging, people-centered leadership style
  • High level of integrity, strong work ethic, good judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and work under pressure and meet deadlines Knowledge of OSHA regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Safety Certifications preferred.
  • High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) with minimum 1-3 years related experience OR associate degree in a related field.
  • Experience in Safety Incident Investigations
  • Effectively deliver safety training
  • Required to walk, stand, sit frequently; Occasionally required to lift &/or move up to 50 lbs, climb/balance/bend/stoop/kneel
  • Must be flexible and able to work necessary shifts, split shifts, or weekends.
