Revenue & Reservations Manager

Reports to: Director of Revenue

Overview

The Revenue and Reservations Manager is responsible for managing The William Vale’s reservations to maximize hotel profitability & guest satisfaction through effective guest rooms inventory control and timely reservations processing.


Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Revenue Management, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Revenue Management

  • Conducts audits to guarantee sell strategy is set correctly on all channels
  • Regularly audit all channels content (on PMS, booking engine, OTAs, RMS, GDS, etc)
  • Monitor, control and optimize daily inventory and room types allocation
  • Assist DORM in quoting Group and Corporate rates and other strategic discussions with Sales & Marketing teams
  • Assist in rate codes creation and its mapping/visibility between channels
  • Work closely with Marketing team ensuring all guest communication is up to date (confirmation, pre-arrival emails, etc)
  • Assist Accounting team with monthly OTA reconciliations
  • Manage the process of overbooking and potential guests relocations
  • Assist DORM in generating pick up report, weekly revenue reports, operations forecast, forecast, month end reports packet and submitting STR data
  • Assist DORM in preparing and conducting weekly Revenue meetings
  • Attend daily morning meeting, weekly Leadership meeting, weekly Group Resume Meeting, and weekly Sales + Marketing Meeting

Reservations

  • Provides leadership, direction and support to the hotel Reservations team
  • Manage all staffing, scheduling, training, coaching, and other operational components associated with day-to-day operations of the Reservations department
  • Audit and train the team on Forbes standards
  • Ensure daily tasks are completed, including but not limited to:
  • Audit reservations information and notes in HMS, countercheck information with OTA extranets when third party bookings
  • Ensure all details of reservations are entered in HMS and communicated accordingly
  • Manage guest package process, posting of minibar charges, lost & found inquiries


Skills

  • Efficient in basic computer usage and skills like MS Office programs
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of colleagues, guests, and vendors in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
  • Must have experience in hotel Reservations department
  • Knowledge of HMS, SynXis, EZRMS and Revinate are a plus
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times
  • Ability to answer telephones and use radio communication.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude


Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience using a Property Management System and working in a Reservations role
  • Minimum 1 year experience using Revenue Management System and working in a Revenue role
