The Repair Technician is responsible for diagnosing and facilitating necessary repairs to new production units along with helping develop root cause corrective actions. The role supports final assembly and testing of products and requires understanding of basic electrical theory, mechanical systems around drives, motors, pumps, combustion systems, PCBA’s, and controls.

Reporting directly to the Manager Manufacturing, this position is based in Shreveport, LA*

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate and interpret test equipment and results.
• Read electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
• Must have basic understanding of electricity and usage of multimeter.
• Follow prompts and diagrams to determine points of failure .
• Must understand electrical, mechanical, control systems to resolve software/ hardware and configuration problems
• Troubleshoot both computer and mechanical/ electrical issues
• Identifies and repair items, as necessary
  

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

• High School Graduate or Equivalent (GED)

Skills & Abilities:

• Must be reliable and self-motivated
• Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
• Ability to follow prompts and diagrams to determine points of failure
• Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools
• Strong troubleshooting skills with both computer and mechanical/ electrical issues
• Ability to work with others without direct supervision
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Ability to climb and/or work at height while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
• Must be able to lift, move, push, or pull 50 lbs. as required for position
  

*Frymaster in Shreveport, Louisiana is an industry leader in the manufacturing of commercial fryer, fryer filtration equipment (built-in and portable), foodservice equipment computers, water-bath rethermalizers and pasta cookers. The facility in Shreveport is a division of Welbilt, Inc.
