Rehabilitation Technician (PRN/Weekends) Job at Reunion Rehabilitation Hospital Phoenix
The Rehab Technician performs delegated functions as a member of the rehabilitation team by providing multi-skilled services. This role contributes to the successful operation of the work area, and functions in accordance with all existing regulatory and company standards, policies and procedures. .
- Provides safe and appropriate support to rehabilitation services as delegated by a physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech language pathologist, and/or physical therapy/occupational therapy assistant to achieve patient functional outcomes. These include the set up or transport of patient in preparation for rehabilitation treatment, obtaining, preparing equipment necessary for the treatment, assisting patients with activities of daily living.
- Interprets work schedule accurately and recognizes and reports errors and or time conflicts to the involved staff or supervisor. Can initiate solutions to remedy the scheduling conflict and assist the supervisor in reorganizing the schedule. Able to use unscheduled time effectively to accomplish other tasks and assignment.
- Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly environment for patients and visitors by performing selected duties of the rehab tech.
- Demonstrates competencies, including knowledge and behaviors, to meet age-specific patient needs. (will list specific patient group for each area, e.g., Adults, Geriatrics).
- Models quality patient/customer service by demonstrating a willingness to serve all customers at all times; maintaining an awareness of patient needs and utilizing initiative to respond to those needs within skill level; utilizing tact, discretion, and compassion in responding to patient/family needs; maintaining confidentiality of all patient information; and functioning in a collaborative manner with other members of the team to ensure quality patient care.
- Demonstrates a willingness for self-improvement by collaborating with leadership to identify learning needs (reflective of organization) and seek instruction from appropriate resources.
- Contributes to improvement by participating in meetings, training, in-service education, performance improvement activities, as directed. Ensures cost-effective utilization of resources within own control.
- Performs patient related tasks assigned by therapist, including but not limited to: Lifts patients to/from mats, treatment and tilt tables, wheelchairs, and other equipment appropriate to the facility/department. Assists patients with transfer activities to all surfaces. Assists patients in donning/doffing all appliances specific to the facility/department. Positions patients in parallel bars and prepares patients for standing with appropriate orthotic/prosthetic devices and equipment. Transports patients to/from therapy as needed. Assists therapist with other patient related treatment activities as appropriate and providing equipment.
- Assist with patient related activities including equipment set-up and patient positioning in preparation for therapy session.
- Participate in patient care tasks; bathing, feeding, transporting as needed.
- Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, taking messages, taking inventory, ordering supplies, and completing forms.
- Coordinate and schedule the daily patients and therapists’ treatment schedules to ensure patients meet the 3-hour requirements
- Models quality patient/customer service by demonstrating a willingness to serve all customers at all times, maintaining an awareness of patient/customer needs and responding to those needs, maintaining confidentiality of all patient information, and functioning in a collaborative manner with other care-givers to ensure quality patient care.
Qualifications
Minimum
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross. Online certification is not acceptable.
