Each of our 14 orthopedic surgeons are board-certified, fellowship-trained sub-specialist experts in their area of focus. In addition, we have 22 mid-level providers serving patients in North Kansas City and Independence, Missouri as well as Overland Park, Kansas.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse with a strong background in patient care and orthopedic injuries for assisting surgeons in both the clinic setting and the operating room as needed. Applicants must be self motivated and highly professional individuals who want to work in a fast paced, high energy environment. Effective communication skills and sound clinical judgement with patient care issues is imperative for success. Operating room experience preferred, but not required.

Job responsibilities and Duties:

  • Rooming patients, obtaining medical history and providing accurate and concise documentation within the EMR
  • Assisting physician with patient care related tasks including dressings, suture removal, splinting and casting
  • Addressing patient concerns and questions as well as relaying critical information to physician for direction and resolution of concerns
  • Assisting the surgeon under direct and indirect supervision throughout the preoperative, intraoperative and post-operative duties and procedures at all times
  • Maintaining sterile technique at all times in the operative setting

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
  • Valid Nursing License
  • Operating room experience preferred, but not required. Willing to provide training
  • CPR certification
  • Ability to pass drug screen and background check
  • Sufficient strength to assist with transferring patients using body mechanics
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule and to fill in when needed
  • Working knowledge of health care laws and regulations
