We currently have an opening for a PRN Registered Dietitian at our Rehabilitation Hospital in Lakeway. Our hospital is located in Lakeway Texas in the scenic hill country on the southern shores of Lake Travis. Lakeway is a resort community about 25 miles west of downtown Austin. The city offers an outdoor lifestyle with a 65 mile long lake, golf courses, tennis courts, marinas, a private airport, 100 acres of parkland hiking and biking trails, and nearly 500 acres of greenbelts.

Responsibilities:
As a Registered Dietitian with Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation you will enjoy the privilege of providing healthcare of the highest quality. You will be responsible for providing nutrition counseling and education specific to the individualized needs of the patients.
Current and valid registration as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration required.
Previous clinical nutrition experience preferred.

A Dietitian provides quality nutritional care to patients, including the assessment of nutritional needs, the development of medical nutrition therapies and implement these plans with the multi-interdisciplinary team. Participates in multi-interdisciplinary rounds. Provides nutrition education to patients and families. Acts as a Food Service Supervisor as needed. Implements established departmental and organizational policies and procedures. Follows standard practices and complies with regulatory requirements.
As a Registered Dietitian with Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation you will enjoy the privilege of providing healthcare of the highest quality. You will be responsible for providing nutrition counseling and education specific to the individualized needs of the patients.
Educate patients on how to select food to maintain and promote health as well as to prevent and treat illness and disease.- Plan appropriate diets and menus to meet the needs of individuals whose medical condition can be treated or controlled using diet therapy.
- Determine if follow-up appointment is needed, based on patient’s motivation and comprehension of education session.
- Serve as a community resource to patients.
- Create in house nutrition education materials for use in nutrition education of staff and patients.
- Monitor and respond to phone and e-mail messages promptly.
- Enters nutrition notes promptly when assessment completed.
- Will maintain patient, employee and computer data safety and confidentiality.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current and valid registration as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration required.
