The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the JustFoodForDogs store, including (1) ensuring consistently high customer service standards, (2) developing and managing team members and (3) driving store-level financial results throughout a designated Region. The Regional Manager is responsible for the success and results of the day-to-day functions while encouraging teamwork and efficiency in the market. Our ideal applicant is a leader capable of multitasking, managing time and a team of employees, while overseeing both sales and kitchen operations to independently make key decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directly manage GMs, Area Managers, KARs, and Territory Leaders including coaching and training to help achieve their performance goals
  • Work with People Team & Recruiting Leaders to recruit, hire, and train new team members
  • Work with location Leadership to manage labor budgets within locations, ensure effective scheduling to meet business needs, and adjust accordingly.
  • Ensure all locations maintain high quality standards through checklists, store visits, one on one meetings, unannounced visits, company policy adherence, training administration, team leadership coaching, and
  • Serve as a role model for company values and protocols, setting the tone for culture within the retail and partner units under leadership and responsibility
  • Track and maintain metrics defined under the Field Program (JustFoodForDogs’ standards), including a minimum number of store visits, trainings, customer/partner, and brand awareness opportunities

Sales/Customer Service:

  • Work with Team Leaders to ensure Nutrition Consultants are engaging with customers, understanding their pet dietary needs, and providing solutions and sales techniques to drive company mission forward
  • Manage Location Leads and ensure they maintain effective merchandising and product display in all units
  • Train and empower leaders to respond to complaints, taking all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied customers into returning customers
  • Ensure that all Nutritional Consultants have competed JustFoodForDogs Training Programs including Academy and “The Bowl”. Certify NC’s in a reasonable amount of time and provide continued feedbadk
  • Triage operational issues (e.g., equipment failure, ingredient shortage, quality questions) and coordinate with the Director of Retail Operations and/or Facilities Manager to drive resolution.

Marketing:

  • Develop and deliver local B2C and B2B marketing plans (in coordination with HQ efforts) to drive store traffic in all locations with location teams and brand ambassador.
  • Build relations with outside partners and agencies to continue driving the market. ie Vet clinics, apartment centers, neighboring retail businesses, and rescue services

Operations:

  • Ensure staff adheres to safety, cleanliness, and product quality standards.
  • Manage leaders in ensuring approval of supply replenishment orders (e.g., marketing materials, ingredients).
  • Train General managers, Area managers, & KARS, to receive deliveries and accurately organize/manage back-room inventory as well as client services and administration duties

Finance

  • Meet or exceed monthly budget for market profitability; identify root cause and corrective actions for missed targets
  • Manage, monitor and ensure the secure handling of cash

Other:

  • Effectively implement strategic initiatives
  • Work by the company’s mission to create an effective teamwork environment
  • Provide weekly and monthly performance reporting packages to teams, leadership, executives, and partners

Business Development

  • Collaborate with Senior Leaders and the Executive Team on relevant internal and external plan to execute multiple new location opening(s) with a special focus on, but not limited to:
  • Identify pockets and areas with strong company demographics, and assist in locating potential future sites
  • Point of contact for existing and new relationships
  • Collaboration with Development Team on new locations and construction sites
  • Local point of contact for landlords.
  • Point of contact for on-site architectural and construction teams.
  • On-site marketing/branding

Competencies and Qualifications

  • Ability to manage, build, lead and motivate effective teams in a multi-unit environment.
  • Ability to handle the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities; ability to multitask
  • Ability to create and implement strong training programs
  • A love for retail, nutrition, dogs, and a desire to create the ultimate customer experience
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communications
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Comfort with constant evolution and change (as we are a rapidly growing business)
  • At least 5+ years of multi-unit leadership experience within the retail, hospitality, or restaurant industry
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree
