Regional Manager of Operations Job at Fastening Solutions
SUMMARY
Headquartered in Montgomery, AL, Fastening Solutions Inc. (FSI) regionally distributes and markets industrial quality tools and fasteners to industrial manufacturers, lumber yards, and contractors. Specifically, FSI focuses on selling wood to wood fasteners consisting of collated nails, staples, screws, and tools. Additionally, FSI sells steel and plastic strapping systems. FSI also repairs and maintains pneumatic hand tools. The company operates 18 branch locations across the southeast.
FSI currently has a position available for a Regional Operations Manager. The Regional Operations Manager (ROM) has all-encompassing responsibility within a specific geographic area, leading a team of local managers and support staff to meet the operational needs of the organization. The ROM will have three primary areas of focus: operational efficiency, human capital growth, and strategic direction.
OBJECTIVES
- Ensure daily operation is seamless, effective, and efficient within the assigned regional area
- Develop, implement, and guide the strategic direction of the region assuring alignment with the overall aim of the organization and its long-term goals
- Manage the scope of regional operational resources, material resources, and human resources, through direct supervision of the localized management staff
RESPONSIBILITES
- Create and implement operational policies for the regional area which align with company policies and values
- Plan and implement day to day practices for multiple facilities assuring smooth integration with organizational partners up and down stream
- Measure the effectiveness of each local operation in the areas of operational stability, inventory management, customer satisfaction and profitability
- Develop regional staffing requirements; direct involvement with the recruitment and hiring of new staff
- Coach, train and motivate the local management staff; monitor individual performance and progress
- Focus on continuous improvement at the local and regional level
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- 10 years of demonstrated experience in operations management with emphasis on inventory management, warehousing and personnel management
- 8 years of supervisory experience with proven ability to lead, motivate and train employees on company policies and practices including safety and team building
- MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with all levels of company staff
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve moderate to complex issues
- Ability to travel up to 80% of the time, weekly
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, sit, reach, stoop, squat and kneel on an occasional basis in varying temperatures
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving history
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics or related field
- Retail operational experience
