Responsible for maintaining and coordinating the distribution of fire rescue inventory, department-owned property, fixed assets, general equipment, and supplies to ensure operational readiness of the fire rescue department.

Essential Function Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains inventory of department tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Coordinates the distribution of tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Evaluates the operational readiness of tools and equipment
  • Cleans and inspects tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Maintains tools and equipment
  • Handles assigned work activities and projects assigned by supervisor
  • Attends staff meetings as requested
  • Maintains assigned vehicle and equipment
  • Maintains assigned fixed-assets (department-owned property)
  • Responds to critical/emergency/disaster situations, as needed
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, and
  • Valid Florida State driver's license with a good driving record, and
  • Some experience with inventory, preferably dealing with fire rescue tools, equipment, and supplies

Eligibility:* *Coverage in the City’s group insurance plans begins the first of the month following thirty (30) days of employment, transfer, or promotion.
Health Insurance:* *Choice of three (3) plans provided through Florida Blue. Employee contributions are required toward the cost of this insurance on a bi-weekly basis as follows:

Employee Assistance Program:* *Six (6) visits per calendar year, per issue, provided at no cost.

Wellness Program: Voluntary wellness initiatives that promote and reward health awareness.

Pension Plan:* *Provided through the Florida Retirement System (FRS). Choice between the Investment Plan with a one (1) year vesting schedule, and the Pension Plan with an eight (8) year vesting schedule. Mandatory 3% pre-tax contribution.

Personal Leave:* Eight (8) hours accrued monthly used for vacation, illness, or personal time away from work.*
