The Large Power Systems Division in Lafayette, IN currently has an opening for a Quality Specialist Gage Lab Follow Up . This position is responsible for writing purchase orders, MISOs, etc, writes and follows up on “Requests for Quotes” on Gaging requiring third party calibration lab repairs or recertification’s and assists in ordering gage repair parts. This position also creates and distributes special Gaging reports, establishes new Gage numbers when needed and is the Lafayette representative for the Corporate Gage System. Writes and updates Gage procedures and is closely involved with ISO/CQMS/Marine Society and any third-party Auditors during periodic audit processes. When the incumbent is deemed to be fully qualified, he/she will be empowered to train new or fellow employees on the technical aspects of this position. Will be expected to assist in the Gage Lab repair and recertification process and support the Quality Manager as needed.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• React to assembly/machine shop line calls for problematic gaging

• Read Caterpillar part prints

• Troubleshoot issues with measurement systems and gages

• Work with engineering and Manufacturing engineering to ensure print dimensions are met

• Strong customer focus, communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work with diverse groups

Basic Qualifications:

• Gaging experience

• Quality experience

• Strong math skills required

• Engine knowledge

• Print reading skills

• Basic computer skills

• Basic knowledge hand gages

• Successful candidate will be required to complete the Quality Specialist exercise within the first six months of service in this assignment

Top Candidates will also:

• Possess problem solving skills

• Be flexible to work overtime as needed to support production demands

• Possess and show strong interpersonal skills and apply customer-based focus

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 35 lbs

• Must be able to bend and twist at the waist and be able to squat

Additional Information:

• Positions available on 3rd shift: 6:30am– 2:30pm.

• Relocation assistance is not offered for this position. Any relocation costs incurred would be the responsibility of the selected applicant.
