Job Summary

Express Employment Professionals Van Nuys/ North Hollywood has two opportunities for a Quality Control Inspector and a Quality Assurance Manager for companies that support the Aviation industry and also manufacturing of products for the oil, gas, nuclear, aerospace, and commercial industries.

Quality Control Inspector

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Must be capable of making own set-ups for inspection, including setups for checking Form Tolerances, Orientation Tolerances, Runout Tolerances, Profile Tolerances, Location Tolerances. Must have an excellent understanding of ASME Y14.5: All symbols, modifiers, Tolerance Zones, Feature Control/Datum Reference Frames, General Rules, Free state Variation, Fundamental Rules, Basic Dimensions, Datums and Datum Selection, Datum Symbol Placement, Virtual Condition, Datum Targets, Position Tolerance Calculation, Projected Tolerance Zones, Chain Line and Chain Dimensions. Knowledge of Coordinate Measuring Machine Operation of the machine. CMM programming is a plus. Analyze facts and circumstances surrounding individual inspection problems and determine acceptance or rejection of parts within requirements. Performs inspection and records results to assist other departments in their research and analysis work. Review certification packages delivered with parts from suppliers for accuracy and adequacy. Responsible for promoting and abiding by the HSE rules and policies. All other duties as assigned.

Quality Assurance Manager

General Description: This position requires an individual to oversee the Quality System, system improvements, corrective and preventive actions, training, internal / external audits, customer feedback, complaints, engineering change orders, Failure Analysis investigation and reporting, quality control, and Customer order requirements review. The individual is responsible to ensure that the quality management system is maintained for AS9100/ISO 9001 compliance and provides support to all functions of the company and its customers.

Duties & Responsibilities: * Managing the development and implementation of the quality manual and the quality system * Implement, maintain, and ensure compliance with the quality management system to achieve corporate objectives in the most effective and efficient manner * Oversee compliance of Operations, Design, Service, and other functional areas to the QMS requirements * Conduct Management Review of the Quality System as Management Representative * Oversee the effort to address and reduce customer complaints through effective root cause investigation and corrective action, as required * Manage the corrective action preventive action (CAPA) activities * Manage internal audits and oversees internal audit findings to ensure compliance to third party and regulatory requirements * Create and maintain required quality system documents and records, including summaries and management reports * Ensure that policies and procedures are harmonized with company processes and systems. * Takes part in the review of engineering orders and engineering documentation, such as drawings, part lists, specifications, ATP’s, and other relevant documentation * Oversee and participates in design quality, including design reviews, quality plans, and first article verification plans * Participate in Sales process by reviewing, implementing, and assuring compliance to, quality requirements dictated in contracts/tenders * Oversee the implementation and training of JT-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and ESD as required * Manage the MRB Process * Perform failure analysis by investigating and reporting internally and externally to Customers and Vendors * Implement product quality improvements * Engage in continuous process improvement through measurement, reporting, and evaluation of metrics * Function as the primary point of contact and management representative for external audits and government/customer source inspections * Develop, communicate, and review measurable goals and objectives for subordinates * Conduct employee performance reviews and counsels and disciplines employees as needed * Evaluate employee training and education needs and documents employee training records * Manage the quality control functions: Receiving Inspection, In-Process Inspection, Final Inspection, and Customer Return Evaluations * Manage Calibration system to ensure compliance of all calibrated equipment used in product builds and inspections * Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications: * 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, preferably in electronic assembly or related industry * Proficient with IPC-A-610 Class 3 * Familiar with J-STD-001 Class 3 * Familiarity with Military specifications * 2+ years experience working with intelligent user interfaces such as touch screens and display devices * Familiarity with Regulatory agency compliance (UL, TUV, CE) * Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Front Page, and Excel. * Proficiency with Infor Syteline or other ERP Systems * Creative problem solving, flexibility, and good negotiation skills * Proven ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and staff at all levels of the organization. * Ability to take initiative, maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines, and work in a team environment. * Ability to multi task and drive practical results to a timely conclusion * Self-motivated and organized. * Experience writing standardized procedures for documentation of Quality Systems * Strong leadership skills. Additional Skills: * Familiarity with AS9100 Quality Systems is highly desirable * Use or familiarity of AS9102 First Article Process is desirable * Use or familiarity with INFOR Syteline or any other ERP system is helpful * Familiarity with ITAR requirements is a plus Education Requirements: * Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a Technical field (5 years of directly related experience may be substituted or the educational requirement). Physical Requirements: Close and precise vision is needed. This position may require sitting and / or standing for long periods of times. May occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
