Position Summary:

The ideal candidate is a hands-on manager/leader, with critical thinking skills, who will proactively improve the quality systems of the Company through internal audits, participation in process improvement programs, and interaction with others to obtain constructive feedback.

This role reports to the President/CEO & is a part of the Executive Team.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop, maintain, and grow a quality organization, including being the Company’s ISO Champion

· Manage QC Supervisor and Inspectors

· Identify potential risks before they become a problem, focusing on root cause analysis and preventive action

· Perform internal and external quality audits and compile detailed reports of findings

· Ensure calibration systems are up-to-date and all equipment/instruments are calibrated per schedule

· Identify product quality problems, facilitate the investigation of non-conformances, and initiation of root cause and corrective action

· Ensure workmanship standards are followed

· Establish, maintain, and communicate monthly KPI's through meaningful metrics that ensure Company goals and objectives are being met

· Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Quality Department

Requirements:

· 3+ years Quality Control/Assurance Management; Manufacturing experience a PLUS

· 5+ years' relevant work experience, preferably QC/Assurance in a sheet metal and machine job shop

· Extensive experience with ISO 9001; preferably has developed an ISO system from initial audit through to certification and has maintained the certification

· Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and follow up/follow through

· Demonstrate “hands-on” / “roll up your sleeves” style of management

· Possesses a “whatever it takes” attitude to get things done right and according to established standards of accuracy and quality

· Sense of urgency

· Strong problem-solver with a highly analytical mind

· Have a tactical approach balanced by “big picture” thinking
