PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE –PHN

Every day, Public Health Nurses strive to promote and protect the health and safety of the community. As an independently licensed RN, you will provide a variety of public health nursing services focusing on prevention, including but not limited to child and adult health, infectious disease control and screening, promoting healthy communities, emergency preparedness/response/recovery, and providing home visits with families to achieve their prenatal, postpartum, and parenting goals. This family home visiting role focuses on our evidence-based home visiting program and requires statewide travel for training. This full-time, benefit-eligible position is located at the Carlton County Public Health & Human Services building with work being performed primarily in client’s homes and in the community. Upon completion of a probationary period, a hybrid schedule between office building, community, and remote work may be approved.

SALARY: $29.21 - $34.79 (Contract -Bargaining Unit: AFSCME (PHHS) Council 65)

HOURS: Full-time; 37.50 hours per week. Work schedule is primarily Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with flexibility in scheduling. Schedule may vary based on business needs and at supervisor discretion.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with training in community and population health and a Public Health Nurse Certification. One year of experience in home and community-based or public health nursing preferred, or proof of applicable experience in a similar setting. Certificates/Licenses Required: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota. Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required. The person chosen for this position must fully support the core values and mission of Carlton County Public Health and Human Services, must work positively in a team environment, function constructively during conflict resolution and be positive and proactive when problem solving.
