Job Summary

The Proposal and Award Coordinator provides a variety of support to the teams within the Office of Contracts and Grants (OCG), including proposal data entry, award logging, and other sponsored project functions to assure compliance with university, state and federal policies and regulations. The Coordinator will report to OCG's Deputy Director, with responsibilities to other managers when performing duties for teams in the department.

This position will assist with the management of proposal and award documentation in InfoEd (OCG's award management system), completion of required elements of sponsored project management with internal and external partners, and special projects to support OCG's teams and leadership.

OCG works in partnership with CU Boulder's faculty and staff to prepare and submit proposals, including budgets, for external research funding. OCG has the authorization to negotiate and accept sponsored research agreements on behalf of the Regents, monitor and provide guidance throughout the life of an award, and ensure final project closeout.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Proposal Data Setup and Award Logging:
  • Support accurate data entry functions within into OCG’s system of record and sponsor proposal submission systems. Award logging requires making judgments on whether the award is a grant or a contract so it is directed appropriately for processing, determining if it is related to an existing award, identifying budgetary elements to include in the system, identifying the proposal submitted for the resulting award, and similar determinations. These determinations are often challenging and require research of the full award document and the sponsor’s general guidelines as well as communication with colleagues/managers in OCG.
Special Projects:
  • Support leadership with projects and administrative tasks which provide an introduction to the variety of work performed in research administration.

What You Should Know

  • This position offers the option of either a hybrid format (virtual and in-person support) or fully remote work.
  • This is a full-time, 9-month limited-term position with the possibility of continued employment based on budget, performance and OCG business needs.

  • The salary for this position is $51,000 annually.

What We Require

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

What We Would Like You to Have

  • At least 1 year of professional experience using a Windows-based PC, word processing, spreadsheets, email communication, and the internet.
