SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The Construction Project Scheduler plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely and efficient execution of each project by developing and maintaining comprehensive construction/production schedules. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including project managers, contractors, and subcontractors, to create realistic project timelines and identify potential scheduling conflicts. Expertise in scheduling software and strong analytical skills will be essential in optimizing project delivery and resource allocation.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Schedule Development: Develop and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project. Incorporate project scope, milestones, and deliverables to create realistic and achievable timelines.
  • Resource Allocation: Collaborate with project teams to identify resource requirements for each project phase.
  • Critical Path Analysis: Conduct critical path analysis to identify tasks and activities that directly impact project completion. Provide recommendations to mitigate delays and improve project efficiency.
  • Progress Tracking: Monitor project progress by regularly updating schedules with actual dates, milestones achieved, and work completed. Identify deviations from the original plan and analyze their impact on project timelines.
  • Risk Assessment: Anticipate potential scheduling conflicts and risks that may impact project delivery. Identify alternative solutions and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with project managers, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project schedules. Communicate updates, changes, and potential risks to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
  • Reporting: Generate regular reports on project schedules, progress, and performance metrics. Provide insights and recommendations to project teams and management based on schedule analysis.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in project scheduling. Implement improvements to scheduling processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance project efficiency and accuracy.


EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • HS Diploma required, AA/Bachelor's Degree preferred (Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Architecture, Construction Management, or similar discipline).
  • 3+ years proven experience in similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify scheduling trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of construction project management principles, processes, and methodologies.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate changes in project scope, priorities, or resource allocation.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to addressing scheduling conflicts and resolving issues.
