We have a new opportunity for a Project Engineer on the career path to becoming a Senior Project Engineer, Project Engineering Manager or Project Manager in the future. This position has the option to work from home or the Westminster, CA office. The Project Engineer must be based out of SoCal to attend meetings at the office or client sites or participate in field walks at the client facilities, as required. In this role, you will work on various projects and in a collaborative multi-discipline environment. You will report into the Drive team which is responsible for project execution.
Are you seeking your first position as a Project Engineer? As a Project Engineer at Eichleay, your duties will involve planning, scheduling, managing and monitoring assigned engineering work. Your success will require effective communications and coordination between all disciplines and project stakeholders. On your projects, you will work closely with the assigned Project Managers.
Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Understand and apply Eichleay processes & procedures for project delivery.
- Work with discipline leads to develop Scope of Work (SOW) documents and establish budgets for proposals or subsequent phases of work.
- Track and progress deliverables by project phase.
- Fully understand and manage the workflow of different disciplines, such as, Process, Civil/ Structural, Piping Design, Piping Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation & Architecture.
- Coordinate with the design and document control teams to create and issue squad checks, vendor documents, engineering documents, and construction work packages at various stages such as IFR, IFA, IFC.
- Manage and coordinate inter-discipline interfaces to ensure completion of integrated Engineering Work Packages that meet project requirements and are executed in a safe, efficient, cost effective and timely manner.
- Coordinate, conduct and participate in field visits for project team members, as necessary.
- Manage RFIs, Submittals and transmittals.
- Create meeting agendas, run internal and external meetings, record and publish meeting notes, action items and decision logs. Meetings may include weekly progress updates, model reviews, and technical reviews.
- Work with the disciplines on trends and change orders as part of Change management.
- Prepare/ run budget vs actual reports and gather engineering resource forecasts
- Manage project closeout.
Job Requirements:
- Accredited four year Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another technical field from an accredited university or equivalent experience
- A minimum of five (5) years related experience with an EPCM contractor
- Self-starter who takes initiative to complete tasks
- Effective skills as a team player and team coordinator
- Ability to work in a diverse work environment
- Experience with planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating all technical aspects of projects.
- Strong technical knowledge and awareness of details to be able to recognize when technical problems are developing
- Clear ability to coordinate with engineering and non-engineering disciplines to implement effective solutions.
- Attention to detail with the ability to work in a time-conscious and time-effective way.
- Experience with participating in client/contractor meetings to resolve project issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to be badged for process safety management governed facilities, which require in depth drug screening.
- Basic skills in MS Word/ MS Excel/ MS Outlook, MS Teams and other relevant industry standard applications
Preferred Requirements/Skills:
- Experience with coordinating or managing project support staff located in remote office locations.
- Understanding of the phase-gate work process for project funding
- Demonstration of innovation, initiative, maturity, and sound judgement
Industry Experience / Requirements:
This role may require all or some of the following requirements (as applicable):
- RSO Safety Training and current card or ability to obtain.
- Client Safety Training and current badge or ability to obtain.
- TWIC Certification and current card or ability to obtain.
- Client cGMP and Sterile Area Training and current badge or ability to obtain.
- Background screening including previous employment, education, criminal history, and driving record verification.
- Participation in random drug and alcohol program.
Compensation: $60,000 to $112,000 *anticipated annual salary may vary based on qualifications and location
