The purpose of this position is to oversee the performance of field construction activities that are in conformance with plans, specifications, schedules. This role requires a working knowledge and background of assigned work, the ability to cope with complex situations through deliberate analysis and planning and see actions in terms of longer-term goals. The role continues to increase proficiency to meet or exceed all project objectives.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee:
  • Contractor onboarding
  • Project Liaison and coordination between MP Operations
  • field construction activities in conformance with project drawings, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, procedures, quality requirements, and safety standards
  • project schedule and cost through the efficient use of all construction resources including manpower, materials, tools, and equipment
  • working to reduce workforce constraints, and create opportunities to improve the project timeline
  • Monitor productivity and cost and implement appropriate action to maintain maximum labor productivity and cost-effectiveness
  • Play an active role in the development of the safety culture on the project, making safety a natural part of all work performed
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in project management, quality management, supervision, managing profitability, delegation, supply management, ADA requirements, and estimating
  • Minimum of five years in the construction industry

Required Education/Certification/Licensure: *

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record are required to drive company vehicles on property

Specialized Skills: *

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, SAP is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written presentation skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Must have keen attention to detail and a focus on quality
  • Familiarity with or keen interest in learning about mining, refining and industrial processes
  • Must be self-directed, highly collaborative, and able to handle a variety of responsibilities.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills needed to prioritize and balance workload
  • Ability to work with all levels within the organization, including senior management
  • Ability to work with internal customers and external agencies for compliance & controls
  • Ability to lead others in the completion of a schedule, budget guidelines, and customer requirements
  • Ability to work with all levels within the organization, including MP Materials Senior Management Team

The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Employee must pass a full-face respiratory fit test. Employee must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to work in PPE level C. These requirements are representative, but not all-inclusive, of the knowledge, skill, and ability required of the Project Construction Manager.
