The primary purpose of the Program Supervisor II is to provide oversight and training of the Medicolegal Death Investigation (MLDI) section of the OCME. This position will supervise and direct other positions including Medical Examiner Specialist and Administrative Specialists II. These positions provide all MLDI operations and services with 24/7 coverage including all holidays and weekends.
Salary Grade: NC17

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) is a branch in the Epidemiology Section of the Division of Public Health within DHHS.

Qualified candidates must document on the application that they possess all of the following:
- Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of public and business administration, medicolegal death investigation, or similar field.
- Considerable knowledge of modernize procedures, practices, and equipment related to the field.
- Working knowledge of human resources policies and procedures.
- Ability to initiate and install administrative programs and procedures and to evaluate the effectiveness.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in establishing, maintaining, applying, and interpreting policies and procedures.
- Ability to plan, assign, and supervise the work of subordinate employees including coordinating and planning daily operations, scheduling, and activities of medicolegal death investigation.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with agency personnel, officials, county medical examiners, pathologists, OCME staff, law enforcement, attorneys, and the general public.
- American board of medicolegal death investigation (ABMDI) certification.
- The duties of this position require periods of sitting, viewing computer monitors, reading and interpreting hand-written reports, and repetitive hand and wrist motion entering data.
- Ability to climb, kneel, crawl, reach, walk, stand, push, pull and lift medium to heavy weight.
Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five (5) years of experience related to the area of assignment;
OR
an equivalent combination of training and experience
