THE ROLE

CakeWorks operates in an agile and fast-paced work environment with daily requests from industry leaders, C-level executives, and celebrity influencers, and is looking for smart, highly resourceful, motivated and accountable candidates who are both willing to and capable of jumping right in.

The ideal Program Manager is equally proficient at running internal and external projects; managing client deliverables from P&Ls to product launches to marketing campaigns; wrangling colleagues and freelance staff against deadlines; and account-managing CakeWorks’ clients, from junior staffers and operators up to the pinnacle of the executive suites. They are extremely well-organized, have a can-do attitude and a professional, friendly, stress-free and efficient approach to getting things done. On-time delivery is acceptable, early is better, and being both trustworthy and fun, with staff and clients, is core to success.

As an account lead, project manager and hands-on contributor, you will play a significant role in the organization, and your efforts will contribute not only to the success and happiness of CakeWorks’ clients, but to the overall growth and sustainability of CakeWorks itself. This position is designed for a details-oriented doer, well-versed in the media landscape (particularly the world of video), who desires to be part of a fast-moving company in an extremely competitive industry. You work both exactingly and professionally to help resolve client needs and challenges across day-to-day strategic planning, business operations and creative programming.

We are looking for someone who is highly organized and self-motivated, articulate and polished, data-driven and business-focused, and able to perform under pressure, regardless of the client or task. You should be willing to ask questions, actively seek solutions, and be confident in responses to clients, even where additional expertise from the CakeWorks’ team is required.

Additionally, the ideal candidate can position and articulate strategic initiatives on behalf of select clients, and communicate potential solutions both visually and orally (e.g. Zoom, email, etc.). They can prioritize multiple client needs; develop rapport with key client stakeholders to support growth and ongoing client success metrics; and ensure that internal CakeWorks team members and freelancers are delivering effectively and collaboratively against core client objectives and contracted deliverables. This role offers a unique opportunity to really see what it's like to work on the ground floor of a digital agency, with lots of opportunity for growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive designated client projects from start to finish, delegating key deliverables, tasks and meetings to appropriate internal/external resources to ensure successful completion
  • Be a trusted program lead and excellent communicator who can articulate recommendations and tradeoffs to senior executives, alongside “in-the-weeds” details to teammates
  • Provide strategic inputs, business narratives and other key “big picture” thought-leadership where relevant to select clients
  • Be a trusted, responsive point person for client executives, partner leads and internal colleagues, across communication channels, including in-person, video conference, email and phone
  • Track and manage designated client video budgets, forecasting, revenue, video views and other KPIs as requested
  • Actively participate in client and CakeWorks brainstorming sessions, including regular CakeWorks’ “lunch and learns” (virtual and in-person), industry sessions, and other opportunities to see and hear more from video industry leaders, technology providers, etc. and stay abreast of video trends
  • Contribute to the overall CakeWorks’ knowledge base, with supplemental research and trends on clients, particular industry events and/or other competitive insights
  • Be an effective and positive influence across the team, from timelines to video strategy to creative brainstorming for CakeWorks and CakeWorks clients

CAKEWORKS REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 5 years of account management and/or project management experience in media, particularly video, streaming and OTT initiatives
  • Experience with – and innate desire to continue – working directly with clients at all levels, from interns and admins to C-levels and celebrities
  • Fluency in the media landscape, from TV to publishing to digital video initiatives
  • Ability to think strategically and communicate effectively and efficiently
  • Self-motivated and exceedingly dependable with a hands-on approach and positive attitude
  • Skilled multi-tasker, with strong organizational skills to assess, prioritize and problem-solve
  • Advanced analytical skills and experience extracting key learnings from complex data sets and disseminating information clearly and concisely to clients
  • Ability to uphold strictest confidentiality and discretion; our clients trust us across their businesses, and we hold keys to data, revenue drivers and competitive numbers that cannot be shared
  • Willingness and ability to ask for help, as early in the process as possible
  • Attention to detail and accuracy (even for the smallest tasks)
  • Expertise in all Microsoft Office products, Google Docs/Sheets/Slides, Slack, and other project management tools and client management systems, with willingness to learn and capacity to adapt to new tools quickly
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, knowing that senior level clients notice and appreciate proper grammar, formatting and error-free presentations
  • Passionate interest in video news, programming, influencers, leaders, and trends
  • Willingness to embrace CakeWorks’ brand qualities – empathy, curiosity, bravery – and represent those with teammates and to the industry at large
