Job Summary
  • The College of Professional Programs at Eastern Washington University is currently inviting applications to fill a 100% time, 11-month Program Coordinator EWU at Bellevue College.
  • Under general direction, this position is responsible for coordinating specialized off campus program and online operations for the College of Professional programs (CPP). The primary support will be to students and programs involved in the EWU at Bellevue College (BC) program, but additional services will be provided to online students and programs within the college. In this capacity, the position will also provide support to the Directors of involved programs; coordinate special projects; facilitate logistics and interface with Bellevue College; assist with marketing, recruiting, and website management; and provide technical, administrative, and student support services. Position will exercise independent judgment and discretion relating to students in regard to EWU and BC program policies, guidelines, and contracts, and in implementing, interpreting, and applying program procedures and policies. Position will independently advise students, staff, and the public regarding the programs and the University, engaging in recruiting activities, and acting as liaison to local organizations, including BC.
  • In the course of performing the position’s duties, this position will have extensive involvement with students, staff, and the public in carrying out program activities, and will coordinate, schedule, and monitor program activities to determine consistency with goals. Position reports directly to the Associate Dean from the College of Professional Programs.

Conditions of Employment
  • This is a 100% time position over 11-months. The employee will be required to take 174 hours of leave without pay over the course of a Fiscal year.
  • This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value; as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. The offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion and passing of a background check prior to beginning employment.

  • High school graduation or equivalent AND
  • Two years experience providing complex program support services involving students beyond entry level support work
  • Demonstrated ability to apply a culturally responsive and flexible approach that is supportive to the diverse needs, including universal access, of our students, faculty, staff, and the public.


POSITION SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS : To be considered qualified for this position, you must meet the minimum qualifications defined above, AND you must meet EACH AND ALL of the qualifications listed below within this section:
  • Strong computer skills demonstrated by two years successful full time work experience using a variety of software programs and working in website development and maintenance;
  • Two years full time work experience maintaining both manual and electronic records and files;
  • Two years full time work experience demonstrating success handling a high volume of customer contact and providing customer service; to be considered qualifying, experience must include communications with a wide variety of different kinds of “customers,” such as other agencies, practicum and internship placements, professionals in the community, internal staff/managers/administrators, students, applicants; and communications must include both verbal/telephonic, email, and written correspondence; “high volume” means receipt of an average of 100 customer contacts on a daily basis to include email, telephone calls, visitors, etc.;
  • Two years full time work experience with demonstrated success in the ability to successfully handle a demanding workload with overlapping deadlines and which required great attention to detail, strong communication skills, perseverance, initiative, and ability to function equally well taking direction and working independently, and in an environment characterized by interruptions throughout the work day.

Note: each of the Position Specific Requirements (“PSR”) defined above requires two years of work experience involving the functions/abilities described above. This experience can come from one or more positions, as long as you offer at least two years full time qualifying work experience in each and all of the PSRs defined above.

Work Schedule
  • Days and times of work schedule is based on the needs of the program and is in accordance with the WFSE Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Days and times of work, including periods of cyclic time off, will be established at the time of hire to allow the Program Coordinator to plan around the work schedule. Anticipate Mondays through Thursdays from 10:00am to 6:30pm, Fridays 8:00 am – 4:30.
    • Student traffic at Bellevue College indicates that BC students typically drop in between 10am and 2pm to inquire about our programs, while EWU students were typically there between 3pm to 5pm. The position is expected to staff the office from 10am to 6.30pm (to provide support for classes that start at 6pm).
  • During this time, the position will be scheduled to take unpaid cyclic time off in the summer for a total of 174 hours. Benefits continue uninterrupted during periods of unpaid cyclic time off.
