Job Overview:

This position is responsible for all areas of daily manufacturing operations and leading the Weekend (Friday-Sunday) Production and Maintenance teams (day and night shift) to ensure goals and customer expectations are met. The Production Manager coordinates the production of wheels/tires and is responsible for the training and further development of the department employees across multiple shifts.

Team Management:

• Lead weekly staff meetings to ensure team members are knowledgeable of company initiatives/goals, team performance and upcoming events
• Develop, train and coach staff to ensure alignment and attainment of goals and monitor activities that establish a positive work environment
• Supervise implementation of all work instructions and completion of records
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety programs
• Coordination and approval of overtime and vacation
• General hiring/discipline

Production:

• Responsible for effective use of personnel, material and equipment
• Partner with Scheduling/Purchasing/other peer Managers to complete needed production
• Coordination of raw materials for machining and wheel/tire pour lines
• Ensure product integrity/quality
• Implement safety and good housekeeping practices
• Partner with Director of Production to implement 1-3 year plans to achieve company objectives

Process Evaluation and Enhancement:

• Review daily reports to ensure operational performance compared to team objectives
• Drive continuous improvement activities that evaluate production systems and processes to optimize production efficiency, quality, and cost
• Report on production metrics during morning meeting providing details on needed changes to process or schedule.

Requirements for success:

• Education: 2 - 4 years college degree preferred
• Prior experience supervising or operating in a manufacturing/CNC/machining environment preferred
• Experience in ISO training & continuous process improvement training, root cause analysis preferred
• Background with general manufacturing skills: measuring tools, blueprint reading, supervisory, etc. preferred
• Computer: Excel, Word, Power Point,
• OSHA Compliance Training preferred, will have opportunity to train if not previously exposed
• Prior supervision and 4-5 years manufacturing experience
