X-Cel Contacts is looking for a 2nd shift Lab Supervisor in our Duluth, GA location. This is a great opportunity to join our team!

Job Summary

Supervise RGP Contact Lens and Custom Soft Contact Lens Labs and Maintenance for highly regulated products and environment, as well as perform hands-on production duties for all positions within the lab.

Experience/Qualifications

• Certificate/diploma from college or technical school; or 2-5 years' experience and/or training in a production environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience in manufacturing highly regulated and differentiated products within an FDA (21 CFR 820) and/or ISO 13485 environment is preferred.

Duties:

• Support the lab manager in the daily operations of the lab.
• Apply front-line leadership principles and judgment, enforce standard operating procedures, and make tactical decisions in the daily work activities of the contact lens labs.
• Develop manpower/staffing requirements and set priorities for production schedules for both the RGP and Custom Soft labs.
• Manage personnel performance and regular communications to facilitate the culture and objectives of the division.
• Know all aspects of lab production, maintaining production requirements, and oversee work flow.
• Conduct hands-on contact lens manufacturing and provide training, work direction, and technical guidance for less experienced employees.
• Effectively communicates with production staff to assure understanding and the proper application of company policies, practices and procedures.
• Understands and follows all company policies and procedures and assures compliance of all attendance & safety rules and regulations. Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and HIPAA protected information.
• Willingly assists others as necessary to keep work current, meet deadlines or maintain even work load. Cooperates with other coworkers and demonstrates a good attitude. Performs an acceptable quantity and quality of work on time as required.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or sit and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee occasionally is required to twist, turn or bend. The employee is regularly required to kneel/squat and reach above shoulders.

The coworker must be able to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Must be able to use engineering tools to move equipment greater in weight (pallet jacks, etc.) Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision.
