Lab Technician


Koniku is seeking a qualified lab technician in the production department. This position will be essential to our production team and will play a critical role in generating high-quality bio products. The Laboratory Production Technician will be responsible for production processes which include cell preparation, transfection, liquid handling, internal logistics, as well as, set deliverables for our ecosystem partners.

There are currently two open positions for this role which will be filled using a swing shift schedule and may include some weekend work.

You will play a critical role in helping us create products that are reliable and precise so our customers can work with one of the most thrilling technologies of our time.


Responsibilities

  • Perform routine mammalian cell culture maintenance.
  • Produce Biochips as scheduled according to the customers' needs.
  • Maintain sufficient inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment in the production for the performance of duties.
  • Perform day-to-day routine equipment maintenance, schedule calibration/preventative maintenance, organize lab operation processes, and support general lab activities.
  • Record all data and results in specified forms.
  • Troubleshoot and document technical issues during execution in collaboration with members of the production, scientific, and biotechnology teams.
  • Create consumable kits needed for different processes.
  • Display a high level of customer service to ensure the production schedules are met, and the quality standards are kept.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or relevant laboratory experience.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of prior experience in a biological laboratory required.
  • Understanding of common molecular and cell biology methods.
  • Hands-on experiences with molecular biology techniques and cell culture are preferred.
  • Must possess excellent attention to detail, be organized, and can maintain detailed records of outcomes.
  • Self-motivated and have excellent organization, communication, and computer skills such as Microsoft Office. Experience with Python is a plus.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and software.
  • Ability to operate and care for laboratory equipment.
  • Knowledge of standard laboratory management and safety procedures.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Able to prioritize and drive results with a high emphasis on quality.
  • Desire to work in a dynamic start-up environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary of $60,000 - $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
