Job Description:
Purpose of the Role
The Process Improvement Manager is a critical team member of the Strategic Project PMO, who will help design and implement process improvements for strategic (and other continuous improvement) projects to achieve the operating and financial goals of the CEO. This is a remote position with some travel required.
The process improvement manager is an expert in optimizing processes, designing management processes & tools, and change management. The process improvement manager will work with executive sponsors, project managers, project leads, subject matter experts and department heads on large strategic projects. They will help develop and implement sustainable and effective process and system improvements to achieve business goals.
Responsibilities
  • Initiate Projects
    • Identify barriers impacting current operating and management processes
    • Identify critical levers that will drive a successful implementation
    • Help develop business cases & project charters for executive approval
  • Design and Prototyping Solutions
    • Work with project team to develop improved operating and management processes
    • Design and prototype systems (tools / tracking / reporting) to effectively execute and manage variances in new/improved processes
    • Work with project team to define implementation plans and governing structures for sustainability
  • Implementation and Change Management of New Solutions
    • Design and implement training & job aids (as needed) to support implementation
    • Provide (as needed) training to leadership at all levels to support implementation
    • Document SOPs (as needed) for long term sustainability of new processes
    • Lead, facilitate, and coach as appropriate to ensure a sustainable implementation
  • Ongoing responsibilities
    • Identify risks and provide preemptive solutions to project team
    • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related degree required
  • 5+ years of process design and implementation, preferably within automotive/manufacturing/collision repair industries
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Expertise in Process Understanding and Process Design
  • Experience in process mapping software tools (e.g. Visio, Draw.io)
  • Expertise in developing reporting and dashboards, SOPs, Job aids
  • Ability to lead & influence others
  • Self-Motivating, with passion for continuous improvement
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong customer service orientation
  • Experience in change management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
The following experience or competencies are not required would be considered a plus:
  • Financial and business acumen
  • Experience in Lean Six Sigma techniques
  • Understanding of the technical aspects of the collision repair business including estimating
  • Management or coaching experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Project management experience
  • Understanding of reporting systems (e.g. DOMO)
  • Understanding of collision repair management systems (e.g. CCC1)
Travel Requirements
  • Primarily REMOTE work
  • Potential for travel for in-person project or team discussions for ~1 week per month
