Process Engineer - Molding Job at IPEX Group of Companies

We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Process Engineer.
This role is based in our plant in our Pineville plant and reports to the Production Manager. This individual will be responsible for the conditions and maintenance of all equipment and buildings in the Pineville – Molding plant.
Job Summary
We are looking for a Molding Process Engineer to join our engineering team at our Pineville, NC location. The Process Manager is going to drive continuous improvement by working independently or in conjunction with Engineering, Production, maintenance, or vendors to analyze and develop solutions to improve on or solve issues in the Injection Molding Department. This includes design, development or modifications of new and existing processes, equipment, tooling, materials, cost, or quality improvement projects.
Principal Responsibilities
- Maintain acceptable housekeeping and organization.
- Identify and pursue cost savings initiatives.
- Participate in cause and corrective action analysis, implementing solutions related to the molding process.
- Monitor cycle times and ensure compliance to standards.
- Lead resolution of process / product quality issues.
- Lead process efforts to maximize CPVC regrind consumption.
- Analyze data to troubleshoot equipment, tools and processes.
- Utilize Statistical Process Control to establish process tolerances.
- Provide training for technicians and supervisors across all shifts.
- Perform Design of Experiments.
- Establish and document robust processes.
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
- Participate in shift transition meetings daily to identify variances and develop corrective actions.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities by providing solutions that eliminate waste and process variation.
- Ensure policies, procedures and work practices as outlined by the HR Best Practices – USA, the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and ISMS are always followed.
- Implement corrective actions as assigned arising from HSE activities. Communicate actions taken or reasons for deviation to affected employees and managers.
- Participate in Accident/Incident Investigations in compliance with ISMS Element 11.0 for required incidents and involving subordinates.
- Conduct annual performance reviews for subordinates and provide coaching and counseling as required.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Four year degree in Engineering or related degree or 6 years equivalent experience.
- A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent leadership/management, written & verbal communication, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Sound understanding of Statistical Process Control, Process Capability, and Lean Manufacturing Techniques.
- Sound understanding of Scientific Injection Molding.
- A working knowledge of the injection molding process, molds and, peripheral equipment.
- A proven track record in a continuous improvement manufacturing environment with ISO 9001.
