Production Manager
Supervises production departments. Develops and maintains production schedules for prepress, press, bindery and shipping. Proactively identifies and communicates job problems/issues with Ownership and Project Managers. Leads daily production meetings and coordinates the scheduling of output of all customer proofs.
Responcibilities:
- Supervises and directs the following department supervisors: prepress, press, bindery and shipping.
- Schedules production of all jobs in cooperation with Sales, Project Managers, Prepress, Bindery, Shipping and any others to assure deliveries as promised.
- Maintains quality control at a level that meets or exceeds the demands of the customers on individual jobs.
- Recommends new procedures to improve production. o Maintains "Master" Schedule Board for production departments.
- Leads and fosters communication in daily production meetings.
Duties:
- Maintains and continually updates Master Schedule Board, showing the current status of each job in production.
- Make commitments involving the plant's capabilities regarding unusual jobs or special schedules.
- Schedules and reviews all jobs as they enter production and immediately notifies Project Managers and Ownership should schedule fall behind, of any changes in due dates or if requested due dates are unreasonable or impossible. Communicates and recommends needed overtime to Ownership during excessive volume periods
- Coordinates job outsourcing scheduling with the shipping department.
Experience:
- Degree in graphics, print or design or equivalent business experience
- 5 years management experience in print preferred
- Knowledge with offset/digital printing layouts
- Experience and knowledge of lithographic, digital print, and fulfillment
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, Acrobat, Microsoft Office, and Kodak Prinergy preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
