    Township High School District 214, a high achieving, nationally recognized Blue Ribbon High School District in Northwest Suburban Chicago, is seeking a dynamic, innovative instructional leader with a history of collaborative leadership resulting in improved student achievement. We are looking for candidates who will assist RMHS create an exemplary learning community where everyone seeks and implements strategies for improving student achievement and growth; one who is a highly proficient leader, excelling in facilitating interdisciplinary curricular connections building-wide, and demonstrates a commitment to the success and well-being of all members of our school community.

    The principal's primary responsibility is to create the condition which helps educate every high school student to the limit of their capabilities. While the principal is responsible for the total operation of the high school, the majority of the principal's time shall be spent in the role of instructional leader.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES:

    • Promotes a school climate that includes high expectations for students and staff and a productive and orderly working environment where effective instruction can occur.
    • Maintains consistency among the school’s achievement goals, learning objectives, classroom objectives, curricular materials, and the instructional practices of educators.
    • Works with central and building administrators and staff members in the school to evaluate and improve instructional and co-curricular programs.
    • Tours the school, visits classrooms, and meets with teachers for the purpose of improving instruction.
    • Maintains high visibility throughout the school by spending time with students and presiding over school-sponsored ceremonies and events.
    • Works with citizens and community organizations to develop and maintain a supportive partnership between the community and the school.
    • Participates in the evaluation of staff and evaluates the school's administrative staff.
    • Interprets policy positions of the Board of Education to students, staff, and parents of the high school community.
    • Implements policy decisions of the Board of Education so that the district can accomplish its mission.
    • Works with appropriate central office and school personnel to staff all school programs with competent and qualified personnel and recommends retention, promotion, transfer, and dismissal of staff members.
    • Fosters articulation of high school programs with feeder districts.
    • Works with appropriate central office and school personnel to develop and monitor budgets for the operation of programs.
    • Works with appropriate central office and school personnel to ensure the safety and adequacy of school facilities.
    • Collaborates with district and building leadership to ensure equity is infused in practice and remains at the forefront of efforts to disrupt inequities.
    • Performs other tasks as assigned by the Superintendent.


    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Presently holds a Professional Educator License with a General Administrative Endorsement.
    • Successful administrative experience required.
    • Candidates with previous building principal experience preferred.
    • Doctorate preferred.

    LENGTH OF CONTRACT: 12-month assignment
