Play Therapy Clinician

Provide mental health counseling, play therapy, and case management services to individuals, families, and groups. Conduct assessments; perform case coordination, care management, and rehabilitative services; provide diagnosis and treatment plans; prepare notes, case summaries, and other required forms to maintain a case within the clinic.


Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical counseling to clients - including children, adults, adolescents and/or parents and families
  • Assess new clients for individual treatment plan
  • Create individual treatment plans based on DSM diagnoses
  • Provide treatment using a variety of modalities to include but are not limited to: parenting education, the use of therapeutic play techniques, and trauma-focused theories
  • Maintain an open line of communication with care providers, treatment team (i.e. PCP, Psychiatrist, school, etc.), patients, and their family members to efficiently address assessment concerns
  • Timely completion of written records for each client including, but not limited to: intake notes, progress notes, treatment plans, termination notes, contract notes, and other forms or documents within a timely fashion per Ensemble Therapy procedure
  • Keep client files accurate and up to date
  • Participate in team meetings and 1:1 & group consultation
  • Per state licensure and/or certification requirements, participate in continuing education and professional development activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Licenses: LCSW, LPC, LMFT; LMSW, LMFT Associate, LPC Associate under clinical supervision with a board-approved supervisor
  • Experience working with children, adolescents and families in a clinical setting
  • Completed at least one graduate level play therapy class
  • Desire to become Registered Play Therapist (If not already)
  • Willing to commit to seeing clients during after school hours on some days
  • Exceptional customer service skills and attitudes
  • Strong written and verbal skills

Education, Certification, and Experience

  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Mental Health Field
  • LCSW, LPC, LMFT; LMSW, LMFT Associate, LPC Associate under clinical supervision with a board-approved supervisor (in the state of Texas)
  • At least 2 years experience in Counseling, Social Work, or Mental Health Field

Compensation

The position is commission based. Clinicians earn a percentage of each session fee which can range from $140-280 depending on years of experience and licensures. The pay range for a full time clinician can span anywhere between $45k-85k a year, depending on how often you want to work.
