OmniMax’s commercial segment manufactures metal roofing, wall panels, and custom architectural products for large projects under the Fabral and Copper Craft brands. The Company is also a leading supplier of fabricated panels to the Recreational Vehicle industry.
Locally in Gridley Il. at our Fabral plant, we have an immediate opening for a Plant Manager.

Job Description-Plant Manager in Gridley (note we are posting this opening in several locations, but the job is in Gridley Il.).
Duties and Responsibilities
Direct the administration, production, distribution, and warehousing operations for branch or plant by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
- Coordinates production, distribution, warehousing, and sales in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by the company.
- Recommend the hiring, firing, discipline, promotion, demotion of employees
- Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.
- Reviews production costs and product quality, and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of division.
- Recommend budgets, capital spending, manning, etc. to management.
- Provide leadership and direct all manufacturing activity on site ensuring best practice/compliance with Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental and customer requirements.
- Promote a culture of discipline in cost control and productivity, ensuring maximum focus across all manufacturing activities based on established key performance indicators.
- Reviews production costs and product quality, and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of division.
- Assume responsibility for site maintenance in addition to plant and equipment procurement ensuring cost effectiveness and rigorous implementation of preventative maintenance program.
- Active participation in production planning process ensuring commercial plans is consistent with management objectives and budgets.
- Set aggressive but achievable targets for productivity, customer service, and safety. Continuously monitor progress towards targets and initiate corrective actions.
- Develop strong relationships with field sales representatives and or customers to meet high service expectations
- Work with Continuous Improvement team to improve order integrity, and implement Lean/Visual management techniques
- Directs Lean initiatives and processes
- Promotes the company's safety program by following all safety regulations.
Organizational Relationships
- Interfaces at all organizational levels, including senior corporate and operating group management. Frequent interaction with: Operations, Engineering, Inventory Planning, Product Managers, Sales, Commodity Sourcing and Human Resources Managers.
- Leads team of exempt and non-exempt production, inventory control, quality, safety, managers and supervisors in the execution of facility objectives.
Position Specification
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred Lean and/or Six Sigma certification desired.
- Five plus years of manufacturing management experience including 3+ years of lean and continuous improvement experience.
- Must be a change agent with excellent analytical skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Operates with high urgency and personal initiative, while maintaining good coordination and communication with staff
- Strong leadership and communication skills to empower employees and teams to drive lean and quality initiatives that lead to customer-focused results. Good presentation skills to effectively share successes and ideas also required.
- P&L Responsibility
- Lean or Lean Six Sigma trained and or certified is a plus.
- !0 Years of Production Manufacturing experience may be considered in lieu of prior plant manufacturing experience
ExperienceRequired
- 5 - 7 years: 5-7 years prior plant manager experience preferably in a metals manufacturing facility
