Plant Maintenance Supervisor Job at Turkey Hill LLC
The Plant Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for daily repair and maintenance of all manufacturing processes and equipment. This position supports the Plant Maintenance and Engineering Manager with issues including changes in policy, developing training programs for mechanics, and overall direction of the plant maintenance department. This position directly supervises all production mechanics, the parts clerk, inventory coordinator and maintenance team leaders. Job Function:
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state, local regulatory bodies and Turkey Hill Safety and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines as they relate to the Plant Maintenance Department.
- Develop both daily and weekly schedules for department to ensure proper staffing. Responsible for all department overtime hours and to determine staffing requirements for holidays.
- Support the company Lean Initiative. Assist continuous improvement teams within the department and throughout the organization as required. Initiate root cause analysis teams to resolve ongoing issues within the department.
- Maintains a professional relationship with all internal and external customers, associates and suppliers.
- Act as a liaison between department personnel and the Human Resources department. Follow all duties and procedures as outlined in the company policies and procedures/associate handbook
- Coach and support development of Team Leaders.
- Coordinates with Facilities Maintenance Supervisor and Utilities Maintenance Supervisor regarding all work being performed within the manufacturing environment.
- Has primary responsibility for all maintenance duties within the confines of the manufacturing environment to ensure the overall mechanical integrity of the manufacturing process.
- Performs all duties within established GMP guidelines and safety regulations; including the use of all personal protective equipment as required.
- Ensure all associates adhere to scheduled work hours and breaks.
- Works with the Maintenance Planner to ensure the timely completion of all maintenance tasks.
- Coordinates downtime with Manufacturing and Warehouse Managers for preventative maintenance (PM) and unscheduled maintenance on processing equipment.
- Coordinates outside contractors performing procured services, and ensures that they follow all required safety and GMP guidelines while on site.
- Assists the project engineering department on all project work that is being performed at Turkey Hill Dairy.
- Responsible for procurement and cost controls on all parts ordered. Responsible for inventory and controls to ensure accuracy of inventory.
- Develops an environment that is conducive to high morale and team building.
- Ensures all department employees perform job duties in compliance with all corporate and regulatory quality, GMP and safety regulations; including the use of all personal protective equipment and devices as required.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to all production mechanics, parts clerk and inventory coordinator.
- Works with the department trainer to identify training and developmental opportunities for associates.
- Perform all duties within established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines and safety regulations.
- Ensure all department associates perform job duties in compliance with all corporate and regulatory quality, GMP, and safety regulations.
- Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements. Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) 2000 Systems. Is accountable to the Turkey Hill Food Safety and Quality Principles.
- Demonstrates knowledge of continuous improvement and lean methodology.
- Demonstrates the ability to engage and coach Associates to effectively work in department and cross-functional teams to define and implement process improvements that provide value to the customer.
- Demonstrate the ability to lead or facilitate department and cross-functional teams through implementation of continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Prefer Associate degree in engineering or vocational technical school experience
- 5-7 years of related leadership experience
- Light industrial experience in a food plant
- Exposure to Lean/Continuous Improvement Teams

- Must be able to operate all job related equipment (powered, hand or office) as required.
- Ability to lift ___50__ pounds and/or push/pull on a regular or occasional basis.
