Requirements:
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
License/Certification/Education: Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of one year of verifiable phlebotomy experience, or possess valid phlebotomy certificate from accredited agency with at least 50 draws.
Skill and comprehension level required for this category: Phlebotomy certification (where required) from an accredited agency, completion of an approved phlebotomy training course, or a minimum of one year verifiable phlebotomy experience.
Exhibit proficiency in blood collection by venipuncture and capillary technique from patients of all age groups, and urine drug screen collections.
Willing and able to be trained as a DOT certified Drug Screen Collector.
Job Summary
This position is the face of our company. The position is a Certified Collector for DOT and Non-DOT urine specimens, as well as a phlebotomist.
Must be able to travel within the state for training and collections as necessary.
Must be able to cover afterhours collections as necessary
The position will collect quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. The position will have direct contact with patients and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner.
Job Accountabilities (Responsibilities)
Collect specimens per established procedures. This includes, but is not limited to: drug screens, and Blood and urine specimens for medical testing.
Responsible for completing all data entry requirements accurately including data entry of patient registration; entry of test order from requisition or pulling order from database; Drug Screen program entries.
Enter billing information and collect payments when required, including the safeguarding of assets and credit card information.
Data entry and processing specimens including: labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as required by test order.
Perform departmental-related clerical duties when assigned such as data entry, inventory, stock supplies, and answer phones when needed.
Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures: (i.e. Procedure Manuals, Safety Manual, Compliance Manual, Automobile Policies and Procedures, Employee Handbook, Quality Assurance Manual); and ensure that all staff members follow instructions.
Perform verification of patient demographic info / initials including patient signature post-venipuncture to verify tubes were labeled in their presence and that the name on the label is correct.
Assist with compilation and submission of monthly data.
Maintain and distribute all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely.
Will be trained by AMLS and remain certified for DOT drug screens during employment.
With appropriate training, act as mentor and resource for new employees, assisting with training as needed.
Communicate effectively and professionally clients and patients.
Ensure facilities are neat, clean and in good repair.
Job Requirements
Ability to provide quality, error free work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric.
Must be able to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
Must have reliable transportation.
Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high volume setting.

Physical Requirements
Lift light to moderately heavy objects. The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects. Objects in the weight range of 1 to 15 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects in the weight range of 16 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally and objects in the weight range of 26 to 40 pounds are seldom lifted and carried. Objects exceeding 41 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.
Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time; requires long hours of eye and hand coordination.
Must be able to perform repetitive tasks with dominant hand frequently to constantly throughout the day.

Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Phlebotomy certification preferred.
Work Experience
