Performance Improvement; Patient Safety Coordinator Job at Cape Regional Health System

Job Responsibilities
- Driving organizational performance improvement and high reliability by collaborating with hospital leaders to implement the organizations quality and patient safety plan.
- Works collaboratively with care teams and leaders to develop, deploy and monitor patient safety standard adherence and patient safety improvement processes that ensure safe, clinically effective care.
- Coordinates and oversees elements of the Patient Safety Program including performing event reviews and analysis.
- Compiles written patient safety summary documents related to serious safety, precursor safety and near miss safety events.
- Performs trend analysis & tracks patient safety related action plans.
- Coordinates and Oversees concurrent interactive investigation of various events including, cardiac arrest, mortality, and Hospital Acquired Conditions including Central Line Associated Blood Stream Infections, Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infections, and C-difficile infections providing advisement on provisions to minimize safety risks.
- Maintenance and organization of patient safety and clinical quality data collection
- Concurrently reviews, assembles and monitors patient safety data providing interventions when needed and as applicable.
- Coordinate the process of monitoring, measuring, and assessment of patient care and support systems to achieve high quality, safe, cost-effective care.
- Coordinate and oversee daily quality responsibilities which include prioritization of clinical quality reviews and performance of concurrent Root Cause Analysis.
- Prepare monthly patient safety meeting reports and statistical analysis

Requirements:
- Graduate of an approved professional school. (nursing or other clinical professional) with current licensure in the State of New Jersey
- Supervisory Healthcare experience preferred and/or experience working in healthcare quality or patient safety.
- Proficiency with computer systems & a strong willingness to learn new systems and processes.
- Time management skills and the ability to work independently in a constantly changing environment while maintaining strict deadlines.
- Experience with performance improvement and regulatory processes preferred.
- 5 years clinical healthcare experience preferred.
- Prior experience interpreting regulatory guidelines preferred.
