Job Title: Personal Care Assistant/ Direct Support Professional

Now offering 1,000 sign-on Bonus for qualified training & experience

Starting wage: $14.00 – $16.00/hour

Currently seeking compassionate, attentive, caring aids and assistants in helping to provide direct care and supports in all areas regarding activities of daily living needs and supports for individuals having intellectual as well as physical disabilities. We currently have openings for 1 staff re: 8-hr daytime shift, 1 staff for an 8 hr pm shift, and one staff for a 3 day, 10 hour light duty overnight shift.

Our lovely private Homes, located in the Harrisonburg, and Linville areas, offer a much more intimate and homelike setting for the staff employed. Our client population per home is approx. four, with one home having a few more clients, thus benefiting the individuals that have chosen to live with us.

We feel having fewer clients per home offers staff time and opportunities to use their own creative talents and innovative skills in helping those in our care to attain their unique personal goals.

Job Description:

Includes but not limited to the following:

Assistance in helping with basic activities of daily living such as bathing/showering, toileting, daily routines, personal hygiene skills, oral care, dressing, transferring, and mobility assistance as needed. Assistance with medications (if med aid classes have been taken and passed)

Assistance with housekeeping activities; (bed-making, dusting, vacuuming, and laundry), etc.

Help in assisting Client’s in transportation to and from Doctor's appt’s as well as with scheduled outings, and shopping excursion as scheduled.

Minimum Requirements:

Must have a High school Diploma and/or GED, a valid Virginia Driver’s License. CNA certification is preferred. Basic math, reading, writing, as well as good communication/social skills are all necessary requirements.

Education/ Knowledge Required:

CPR and First Aid is preferred, however training will be provided to qualified staff, as well as the following training agenda for employment.

ID Training, Infectious Disease Protocols

Human Rights Training

HCBS Rights/ Training

Mandt Training and Certification

Note: Relias, is an online training programs provided for required continuing education.

Additional Requirements

Light to moderate lifting (minimum of 25 lbs.) - any heavy lifting should be shared among employees or use adaptive equipment.

Applicants must demonstrate the ability to move around freely, see, hear, and communicate with clarity.

Must provide your own transportation to and from work.

Safe driving record.
