Dermody, Burke & Brown, CPAs, LLC, an established public accounting firm, has an immediate openings for a full-time and part-time staff in our New Hartford, NY and Rome, NY Offices.
This position will be responsible for:
- Processing weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls
- Preparation of quarterly payroll returns and annual payroll forms
- Remitting federal and state tax deposits
- Processing payroll reports for clients on an as needed basis
- Assisting clients with payroll inquiries
- Various light accounting duties and computerized accounts payable
- Communications with clients
- Assist with general office duties
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in Accounting or Business Management or equivalent experience
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize
- Ability to work independently and multi-task
- Ability to work well in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills needed
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Familiarity with QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Accounting CS products would be helpful, but is not required

Normal work week is 40 hours (8:00AM - 5:00PM), however may be increased from time to time at firm’s discretion. From January 1st thru April 15th you will be required to work most Saturday’s.
