Summary/Objective: The Payroll Technician is responsible for the execution of payroll efforts across the company. Responsibilities may include adjusting records to reflect changes in wage rates, benefits, and/or deductions; processing timesheets; reconciling for errors; and assisting in the preparation of summary payroll reports.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

Process bi-weekly multi-state payroll
Process terminations and other off-cycle payments
Commission, override and bonus calculation verifications
Sales commission calculations
Assist with employment verification requests
Provide date for payroll tax filings
Prepare reports for management
Regularly post payroll activities to the general ledger
Provide outstanding customer service for both employee and vendor associates
Process all deductions and garnishments
Ensure security and accuracy of all payroll information
Assist with Accounts Payable and Receivable duties
Assist with special projects as assigned
Partner with HR team to provide quality customer service to team members

Education and Certifications:
High school diploma required
Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred

Skills and Capabilities:
Excellent organization skills and ability to manage a high volume of detailed work and information requiring orderly actions
Ability to effectively communicate with numerous people either by phone, email, text, or in person
3+ years of full cycle payroll experience
Understanding of Payroll Accruals and how to calculate
Experience with Wage Expense allocations
Experience with the processing of Sales Commissions highly desired
Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now required

Experience with payroll implementation highly preferred
Attention to detail and ability to work well on a team
Ability to handle numerous priorities in a dynamic environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with numbers and able to do basic calculations, word processing and spreadsheet creation
Exercise confidentiality when dealing with personal and sensitive information
Display a strong, functional knowledge of payroll processes and protocols
