Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare end of month inventory total report.
- Oversee all stock orders, emergency orders, and special orders including expediting all back orders.
- Control Inventory levels and obsolescence levels.
- Oversee physical inventory from preparation to completion.
- Prepare and return monthly core return.
- Report to oversee semi-annual service parts return to Mack.
- Evaluate monthly profit and loss report for any discrepancies.
- Evaluate monthly Mack billings.
- Oversee account coding of local parts invoices from vendors.
- Answer customer phone calls, fill orders, and help customers at parts counter when necessary.
- Hire and discharge personnel in parts department.
- Train parts personnel, which include outside and counter salespersons, parts clerk, shipping and receiving clerk, and parts runner.
- Be able to operate all parts equipment, and oversee maintenance of equipment.
- Meets at least monthly with Sales and Service Managers to evaluate and maintain interdepartmental relations, to address concerns and integrate plans to maximize Dealership performance and attain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Periodically visits primary customers to monitor customer relations, their needs, problems, and satisfactions with distributorship performance, especially parts related items.
Marginal Job Tasks
Display and arrange parts for point of purchase specials.
Educational Requirements
Minimum high school diploma required. Degree or college credits toward Management or business. Must be willing to take continuing education courses as deemed necessary.
Work Experience
Three years or more experience in the operation of a heavy duty truck parts department. At least one year experience in the operation of a computerized inventory control system.
Language Skills
Read and write the English language.
Mathematical Skills & Reasoning Ability
Should be able to read computer-generated reports, office reports, invoices, etc. Should be able to compute numbers manually, or by use of calculator or computer. Also is required to operate computer terminals with keyboard and mouse, 10-key calculator, fax machine, and other various office equipment. Must be able to use communicative skills to interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers in a positive and constructive manner.
Physical Demands
Position involves essential ability to sit, maneuver from one work area to another, being able to bend and squat, and manipulate small objects. Involves some lifting and maneuvering of boxes of up to 50 lbs, from floor to waist high, and 25 lbs to shoulder high. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
