StoneMor Inc. is conducting a search for part time Funeral Attendants to join our team at the beautiful Weber Funeral Home in Allentown, PA. Weber Funeral Home was established in 1928. This location also staffs Weber Funeral Home at 1619 Hamilton St. also in Allentown, and the Norcross-Weber Funeral Home in Coopersburg.

This part time position will be a great fit for you if:

You are looking to get experience in the death care industry prior to earning your Funeral Director's license.

Hours are based on the needs of the business and the times of viewings and services scheudled by the families. Additional hours for errands such as picking up death certificates, banking, casket deliveries, removal work, etc may be offered based on your reliability and desire to do more and current needs. Attendents report to Weber Funeral Home on Ridge Ave for their shifts, any traveling to other locations after you report for for the day is done in the company vehicles, you do not need to drive your own vehicle anywhere other than the home location to start your shift. For those attending mortuary school, a part time position has the ability to turn into an internship once licensed for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists Funeral Director in finalizing details discussed during arrangement conferences with appropriate tracking & compliance documents.
  • Assists Funeral Director in directing funeral services and visitation, including greeting family members, opening parlor, coordinating and instructing pallbearers, greeting and escorting clergy to chapel. Will assist with funerals and act as hearse, utility vehicle, or limousine driver when needed.
  • Assists Funeral Director in preparing or coordinating preparation and issuance of permits and documents associated with funerals and embalming. This includes death certificate, permits from coroner, and others as required.
  • Removes and transports deceased from home or hospital to funeral home.
  • Maintains cleanliness of preparation room and equipment.
  • Performs all other related functions as assigned by the Funeral and/or General Manager.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • 1 year of experience in the workforce in any field.

Required Skills:

  • Requires a relatively high degree of concentration and attention for a continuous period of time.
  • Requires occasional standing/walking and frequent lifting or pushing.
  • Must possess valid state driver's license.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact and collaborate effectively with others in a team atmosphere.
  • Availability to work during viewings, funeral services (both inside and graveside), and assist with daytime errands when needed.
