Seeking a highly motivated individual to supervise its Pallet Manufacturing Division in Scottsboro. The Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing process including planning, coordinating, and directing the activities that result in the production of pallets, crates, and skids.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Work under limited supervision of the Pallet Division Manager
· Assist in the design and quoting and of pallets, skids and crates
· Manage 4-6 staff members in the cutting of raw materials and construction of wood pallets, skids and specialty crates
· Assist in purchasing raw materials
· Assist in scheduling production and delivery of product
· Keep up with work orders and material used
· Ensure production stays on schedule and within budget
· Cleaning regiment and other duties as assigned
· Assist in hiring/firing, training, and evaluating staff members
· Ensure safe work environment for staff and safety procedures are followed
Qualifications
· Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse team of staff members
· Good Communication skills and ability to work well with individuals of all levels are essential
· Strong organization and supervisory skills required
· Mechanically inclined, preventive maintenance, any adjustments and repair of equipment
· Stays alert to things that need to be done and, without being asked, takes initiative to see they get done
· Pays close attention to detail
· Good understanding of wood working equipment
· Creative ability to visualize finished product up front
