Job Summary: Responsible for the execution and process of a Production Line and its personnel. This includes execution of the product sequence, operation of the make-up equipment, proofer/oven and pan/hearth system. Responsible for the safe, sanitary and efficient operation of an area.

Responsabilities:

• Ensure that all equipment is operating correctly at the respective position.
• Ensure the orderly condition and operation of the Packaging Department.
• Ensure the availability of required packaging materials according to daily product schedule (Cartons, packaging, closures, coding, etc.)
• Review the daily product schedule and plan the operation of the Packaging Department accordingly.
• Ensure the presence and readiness to work of all shift personnel.
• Enforce Safety Program with all Packaging personnel.
• Ensure proper product specifications: specified packaging material, pieces per package, proper closures, proper code information, proper carton, specified number of units per tray.
• Ensure that dismissed products are properly weighed and recorded.
• Ensure that Slicer Blades are in place at proper setting and cleaned thoroughly.
• Maintain reasonable lock tension closure on packages. Ensure that products aren’t being closed too tight nor too loose in relation to tension of the bag.
• Ensure that Packaging Line is running at proper speed for product being packaged.
• Overall direction of the shift personnel.
• Training of all shift personnel for job functions.
• Communicate daily with line personnel and Production Supervisor about any questions or concerns.
• Continuously monitor for correct code dates and color codes, good seals, tight packages, Q-Bake and even slice.
• Report any foreign material detection to Lead Person/Foreperson immediately and follow product recall procedures if necessary.
• Cover any position on the line when it needs to be covered.
• Provide coverage of breaks and lunch breaks for Department Employees when necessary.
• Participate in the “Buddy System” and properly report new-hire progress.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or its equivalency in experience and/or training.
• Must have Leadership skills.
• At least one year of Bakery Experience.
• Good communication skills and ability to quickly grasp tasks quickly.
• Reliability and dependability is a key factor for success with the company
• Background check and physical with drug screen required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $11.00 - $28.13 per hour
