GENERAL FUNCTION
Incumbent is responsible for conducting, within the established criteria of the American Heart Association and the YMCA of the USA, CPR Basic Life Support and/or First Aid classes for the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis.

GENERAL FUNCTION

KNOW HOW
- Position requires an instructor through the instructor course to (a) acquire sufficient background information and comprehension of BLS subject matter; (b) develop effective teaching methods and presentation skills; and (c) understand the use and availability of teaching aids.
- Requires a high school diploma, or its equivalent, must be at least 16 years and have a minimum 2-3 years experience demonstrating the ability to work with others and meet program expectations and deadlines.
- Attain and keep all certifications current in area of instruction.
- Must be capable of establishing and maintaining positive relationships with class participants and the general public.
- Must be able to work as a team member and possess the core values that meet the YMCA mission.
- Additional current certifications in Safety and Risk Management and Child Abuse Prevention.
