Under the direction of the principal, provide supervision for students on the playground and in the cafeteria.
Assist and supervise students entering and leaving the cafeteria and while at play on the playground.
Supervise students while in the cafeteria for breakfast or lunch.
May assist in clean up of cafeteria after lunch.
May issue citations to students failing to obey cafeteria or playground rules.
Intervene, when needed, to keep students safe.
Maintain good rapport with students and staff.
Report pertinent information to teachers or principal.
OTHER DUTIES:
On rainy days, may monitor hallways by roving them to insure students are orderly in their classrooms.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Acceptable behavior of students while interacting in play.
Oral and written communication skills.
Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
ABILITY TO:
Speak English clearly and distinctly.
Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.

Meet schedules.
Work outdoors in local weather conditions.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Positions in the job classification typically work 7.5 - 12 hours/week for 180 student instructional days.
The duration of the eligibility list is 6 months unless extended by the Executive Director of Classified Human Resources and the Personnel Commission.
Applicants selected for permanent or substitute assignments are required to pay for fingerprinting services and obtain Tuberculosis results prior to beginning work.
