Accent Controls, Inc. is seeking a full-time, non-exempt Motor Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Distribution, located in San Diego, California. Contract date 01SEP2021

JOB SUMMARY:

The Motor Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic repairs, rebuilds, and/or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, tractors, or other assigned equipment.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Diagnosing the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs necessary and identifying what parts are needed to complete the work.
• Replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, gaskets, or other engine parts.
• Grinding and adjusting valves.
• Rebuilding carburetors.
• Overhauling transmissions.
• Repairing/replacing fuel injection systems, lighting components, and ignition systems
• Follow established guidelines in performing day-to-day routine tasks as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)/Job Breakdown sheets (JBS), Technical Manuals, and Audit Readiness standards.
• Understand the Acceptable Performance Levels (APL's) associated with assigned functional work areas / process and work expeditiously to meet contractual and team goals.
• Adhere to Government and Company policies and procedures.
• Ability to use e-mail to receive and disseminate workload tasks and information.
• Maintain a safe and secure work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned relative to the servicing and repair of vehicles and equipment used in support of the contract.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma (or equivalent).

Successful completion of training and experience associated with the work of a motor vehicle mechanic generally acquired through technical school and/or formal apprenticeship or equivalent training.

SUMMARY OF JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Must be U.S. Citizen
• Possess a valid Driver's License
• Fluent in speaking, reading and writing the English language
• Military or DLA Distribution experience preferable
• Experience with service and repair of powered MHE equipment, vehicles, and industrial equipment
• Ability to utilize tooling, equipment, and PPE to safely perform service and repairs.

MISCELLANEOUS / OTHER:

Ability to stand, squat, and have full range of motion, wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as needed for job duties, lift at least 40 pounds, operate a forklift in accordance with a training certification program, and see, hear and respond to dangerous situations.
