- Responsible for preparing an environment that meets the sensitive period of development of the children with in the classroom.
- Gearing the program to the needs of the individual child with concern for the child's interests, abilities, special talents, and individual style.
- Responsible for maintaining a clear, orderly, and attractive Montessori environment, including the care and maintenance of classroom materials and equipment, and maintaining inventory of materials.
- Responsible for creating an environment that demonstrates respect and kindness for all students, as well as between students. The teacher will model and teach conflict resolution and problem solving strategies within the classroom. The teacher will strive to keep peace and harmony within the classroom.
- Discipline concerns beyond typical classroom strategies will be reported to the Director. If necessary, will arrange meeting with parents of students to discuss issues and problem solve.
- Responsible for the safety of the children until end of the day. No child should ever be left unsupervised either inside or outside of the classroom.
- Ensure that the physical environment adheres to all health and safety regulations as required by SpringStone and State guidelines. The classroom program shall also meet accreditation and licensing standards set forth by the State of Nevada.
- Assigning duties in the areas of cleaning and decorating the classroom,
- Responsibilities include planning, supervising, and implementing the monthly program for the class in accordance with the policies and philosophy of SpringStone.
- Plans, prepares, and instructs in an environment that supports the development of the cognitive, emotional, social, physical and spiritual growth of each child. The teacher may be required to participate in meetings, training, and planning cooperatives to fully meet each child's needs.
- Responsible for communication that supports an understanding of the school's program, and protects the privacy and confidentiality of each student and family in the school community.
- Establish a relationship with the parents and maintain regular communication with parents with regard to their child's specific needs. The teacher will provide for parent conferences, meetings and communication throughout the school year in accordance with school policy.
- Responsible for daily electronic communication via SchoolVine. Electronic communication can be a daily diary, a photo, and/ or written description.
- Responsible for informing parents of classroom policies and school functions.
- Will supervise and ensure Teacher Assistant and Visiting Teachers in classroom are aware of classroom policies, expectations, and school policies. Lead Teachers should inspire those around them to pursue a position as Lead Teacher.
- Attending all staff meetings and training programs.
- Meet the qualifications outlined in the state guidelines governing the licensing of childcare centers in Nevada
Requirements
- Must be willing to obtain a background check and Sheriff's card and negative TB test before start date
- Experience working in a licensed childcare facility
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Willing to complete additional training requirements mandated by the State of Nevada
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be reliable and dependable
