Summary
The Americas Risk Management unit is responsible for monitoring and evaluating risks across a number of categories within Mizuho U.S Operations, keeping them contained within management’s appetite by implementing policies to minimize losses and improve efficiency. Mizuho seeks a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Model Governance Assistant Vice President within our Model Risk Management group.
Responsibilities
  • Support implementation and maintenance of model governance processes for all models used in the firm – including model inventory management and tracking of model validation workflow and ongoing model performance reviews
  • Ensure that all Model Risk Management policy requirements are being met in the onboarding of new models and in any changes to existing models
  • Manage the status reporting of model inventory, action items from model validation work, and the production of model risk key risk indicators
  • Communicate model risk status with various cross-functional stakeholders including model owners, developers, IT, and senior management
  • Assist in the maintenance of data and user functionality in the model risk management system
  • Support communication and documentation requests related to regulatory and audit requests
  • Organize periodic model governance meetings and manage ensuing action items
  • Support validation of models which are predominantly qualitative estimation approaches
Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of experience, preferably within risk functions in the Financials sector
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrable proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and Word
  • Bachelor’s degree
The expected base salary ranges from $100,000 - $135,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
