Mobile Crisis Support (on-call) Job at miOttawa.org
In collaboration with a mental health clinician, this position is responsible for providing Mobile Response Services for youth, birth to 21, and their families in the community. This position will accompany a clinician to a consumer's home, hospital, or other environment to assist and provide resources. This position is on-call for scheduled second and third shifts and receives an hourly rate for direct services provided and a stipend for each on-call shift. May be required to complete various trainings related to mobile crisis.
We are hiring to create a pool of crisis support positions. This position will be scheduled for on-call shifts and receive the following compensation:- Monday thru Friday: $50/shift and pay for each hour of direct service
- Weekend: $75 for each shift and pay for each hour of direct service
- Holiday: $100 for each shift and pay for each hour of direct service

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Provides direct consumer care encompassing supportive services, including crisis stabilization, to youth and families.
2. Meets with youth and families in the community and connects youth/family with referrals to community resources.
3. Provides follow up phone calls with families that have connected with mobile response services.
4. Calls families, as referred by other SOC service provides, for check in and offering of support.
5. Documents all contacts in electronic medical record.6. Provides updates of contacts to referral sources, as agreed upon with family/youth.
High School Diploma or equivalent. Lived experiences with mental illness and/or substance use disorders preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES: Possession of a valid Michigan drive s license required.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
1. Ability to engage easily with others.
2. Basic understanding of child development and family systems
3. Good working knowledge of community resources supportive of youth (birth to 21) and their families.
4. Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
6. Computer literacy and working knowledge of word-processing.

Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations, including, but not limited to, visual and/or audiological appliances and devices to increase mobility.
Working Conditions:
Work is generally performed in community settings such as consumer/family homes.
