Overview:

We are seeking a full time Medical Collections Specialist to join our Revenue Cycle Management team!!

This is a remote position with work hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Eastern Standard Time

Pay rate is $20 to $22 per hour

Pay Minimum: USD $20.00/Hr. Pay Maximum: USD $22.00/Hr. Responsibilities:
Responds timely to denied claims, pulling all required documents together and provider the payer with all information necessary to overturn the denied claim(s).

  • Perform weekly and monthly routine reviews of audit conducted by the team auditor.
  • Calls patients when insurance checks are sent directly to the patient to obtain payment as well as answering any specific questions post treatment.
  • Work closely with the AR Auditor, and designated appeal specialist to gather the clinical documentation to conclude a proper medical review and appeal.
  • Respond timely to insurance request for additional information.
  • Call insurances timely in accordance with PFS collection reports. Request rebills as needed.
  • Identify denial trends, and additional process improvement opportunities that can aid revenue cycle operations.
  • Document properly all active; calls, faxes, rebills, etc. in follow- up documentation within the EMR.
  • Attend denial meetings, and payer meetings as needed.
  • Apply standard improvement processes and follow-up through (PDCA) Plan, Do, Check and Act.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
  • Maintain strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks.
  • Participates in professional societies.
  • Follows all state regulations for development regarding professional license.
  • Excellent computer skills and record keeping skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to communicate accurately and concisely, written and oral.
  • Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • High School diploma for GED required.
    • Associates/Bachelors Preferred.
    • Experience in specific job function may be substituted for education.
  • MINIMUM of three (3) years of healthcare collections experience (hospitals, medical centers, doctor's offices, etc).
    • Collectons experience in mental health or substance abuse HIGHLY desired.
  • Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen or other Lean Process Management experience a plus.
  • Medicare/Medicaid experience preferred.
  • CPC, CPAT, or CPAM preferred
  • The ability to read and understand insurance contracts.
  • The ability to put together and work on Special Projects as assigned.
