Mechanical Engineer (M&S Nellis) - Nevada

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will take ownership of the complete design for new projects and deliver the necessary documentation needed to order parts and start a new production line, supporting sales, quality, production, product testing, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Mechanical design cycle of new products and follow up with the sales department on projects constraints and customer demands
  • Set up design reviews for product revision and new product proposal
  • Interface with Production in order to facilitate efficient operations of new products and improve the efficiency of ongoing products
  • Collaborate with Electrical and Power Systems Engineers to develop new packs or improve existing design
  • Manage Design projects from concept to commercialization
  • Create and manage technical documentation as requested by suppliers and/or customers
  • Provide specification requirements in order to help to purchase
  • Collaborate with the Quality department in establishing suppliers’ capabilities and running first-article inspections

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering; degree in Physics a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office, and online tools to enhance productivity
  • Proficiency in using SolidWorks
  • Experience with Fishbowl Inventory or other relevant ERP/MRP software
  • General knowledge of how batteries are manufactured, how they function, and how they are used
  • Ability to pay strong attention to detail.
  • Job skills that include: strong work ethic, "hands-on" approach, knowledge of industrial equipment, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, data-driven decision making, the ability to work independently or as a team member in a multidisciplinary group, demonstrate team leadership skills, and the ability to drive a project to completion.
  • Interpersonal ability to work with various internal groups, including non-technical employees
