Purpose of position/Position Summary

Updates existing designs and creates new designs for hoists. Works closely with the Plant Manager and with other members of the production team and with the sales team. A great opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent learning and advancement opportunities.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

Tasks:

· Product Drawing and design

· Creating shop drawings and BOMs

· Creating sales drawings

· Conversion of existing product drawings from Solidworks to Inventor

· Position will require frequent visits to the shop floor with interaction with the production team

· Position will require being around welding, grinding, torching and the associated environment

· Bring ideas and suggestions for improvement

Skills:

· Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

· Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

· Product Design

o Knowledge of strength and materials

o Bending, deflections, shear stress

o FEA

· Proficient in Solidworks

· Proficient in inventor 3D, or willingness to learn

· Ability to be calm under pressure and deliver rush jobs as needed

What you’ll need to succeed

Education:

· BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or similar, PE a plus

Experience:

· 3 years’ experience working as an Engineer
