Mechanic Apprentice Job at Emerald Tree and Shrub Care
Emerald Tree & Shrub Care is looking for a Mechanic Apprentice to assist our team and report current Mechanic with his daily duties. We currently cover the greater New York City, Westchester and Fairfield County areas. Our clientele includes the New York Botanical Gardens, The Bronx Zoo and Fordham University.
Our ideal candidate is driven, self-directed, excellent problem solver, quick learner, has a passion for mechanics, and is skilled in machinery and safety.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a mechanical setting required
- Must be respectful of safety procedure and prepared to wear proper safety equipment on the job at all times. Prior safety training preferred.
- Must be punctual and deliberate
- Must take direction well and be eager to provide on-site assistance
- Must have a desire to learn within the horticultural and arboricultural industry
- Valid driver’s license is required
- GED or high school diploma preferred
Responsibilities:
- Perform inspection and maintenance with mechanic on company machinery
- Help diagnose mechanical issues
- Assist in making repairs in a timely, ethical manor
- Maintain and test company equipment on a routine schedule
- Monitor and keep shop clean
- Drive to obtain parts from outside sources
