Growing, premier, successful automotive supplier is seeking a Materials Manager to work within their fast-paced production environment. The Materials Manager will be responsible for the following tasks:

While other automotive suppliers are stagnant, this supplier is:
- Adding a new warehouse
- Launching 7 new programs in the first quarter
- Increasing sales by 27% in 2023

Growing, premier, successful automotive supplier is seeking a Materials Manager to work within their fast-paced production environment. The Materials Manager will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Leading plant initiatives for shipping, scheduling, inventory, logistics and procurement (this is not JIT or a sequencing environment)
- Overseeing, coaching and mentoring a team of material professionals
- Directing the efforts of adding additional warehouse space
- Monitoring and improving production control
- Communicating with customers on the status of product and any material issues
- Overseeing plant scheduling efforts
- Monitoring inventory dollars and troubleshooting inventory concerns
- Partnering with accounting on forecasting
- Working within the company's ERP system to run reports and analyze data
Candidates must be able to communicate directly and effectively at all levels, be able to get others "on board," direct cross-functional teams and hold others accountable in a rapid moving automotive environment. This position requires candidates to be on the manufacturing floor up to 10-15% of their day (most days walking on a large manufacturing floor) and complete as needed trips to suppliers and customers. REQUIREMENTS for the Materials Manager:
1. A Bachelor's degree is highly preferred, but not required; experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
2. At least five years in a similar materials management position
3. Experience leading material functions for a Tier I or Tier II automotive supplier
4. Experience overseeing materials and/or procurement professionals
5. A strong background with materials scheduling and inventory
6. Experience working with ERP systems
7. Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. Operations management experience
2. Experience overseeing direct and indirect reports
